Part 2: Touching in the Singing Void - Companion/continuation piece to Sing The Space Electric, written because the author wanted Tony & JARVIS telepathy, Tony mentally taking over a spaceship during a panic attack, and Clint Barton and Steve Rogers tag-teaming as a first contact team. (2,516 words)
Part 3: Darkening Coruscation - The Avenger breaks out into the battle between the SHIELD and Hydra fleets, and Tony and JARVIS show the universe why you really, really shouldn't fuck with their people. And Steve Rogers shows the universe why he's the Captain, when it matters. (6,196 words)
Part 4: Valour & Act - Companion/sequel to Darkening Coruscation. Barbara & Meroe. As Tony Stark is transfered over to the SHIELD flagship Aegis, the AI of the Avenger reaches out to her brother AI on his behalf. (2,355 words)
Part 5: And Loyalty Shining - Maria Hill, pilot of the Aegis and uplinked partner to Meroe, watches Tony Stark be brought aboard, and deals with the potential threat he presents to her ship, her AI, and her mind. (3,394 words)
Part 6: Arc Voltaic - After a brief rest to pull himself back together, Tony and JARVIS meet with Fury and the SHIELD team. To explain the depth of loss, to reveal what they are, and to make plans for the continuation of the war Obie and Hydra rather stupidly started. (7,093 words)
Part 7: Lines Holding Fast - Nick Fury & Meroe. In the aftermath of Tony's revelations, Commander Fury asks the questions that need asking, when loyalties may be divided. (1,288 words)
Part 8: Liminal Transmission - Captain Steve Rogers tries to get a handle on the changes Stark's revelations have made to his universe, and tries to get Tony to understand that he is not a prisoner anymore. (5,000 words)
Part 9: FleetHome - The fleet finally moves off Tannhauser hub, but with damaged AI outnumbering whole ships roughly three to one, the hyperspace convoy back to SHIELD's home system rapidly becomes complicated. Tony's brain really doesn't have the hardware to be a fleet subspace interlink. (8,110 words)
Part 10: In Honour's Palm - Before the crew of the Avenger disembark at FleetHome and everyone's fate is once again uncertain, Barbara asks Natasha and Bruce for some advice. Natasha, Bruce & Barbara, and the consequences of slavery. (3,796 words)
Reactions and Reviews
One of my favorite fic series of all time is icarus_chained's Space Electric far future AU series[1]
What I loved: As advertised, this is a space opera with Tony front and center. All the 1st phase MCU characters come out to play and Jarvis is fully developed and key player. Very very nice enemies to allies transitions and Tony is at his very BAMFiest and hyper-competent best. This is EVERYTHING I loved about IM1-era Tony with none of the bad, a dollop of Extremis awesome on top, and a supporting cast of OC’s that are done to perfection in their characterization and what they add to Tony’s story.[2]
