PhoenixSong.net is a canon-oriented Harry Potter fanfiction archive. It was started as a Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny archive shortly after the release of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2003 and grew to accept more ships as they were confirmed by the subsequent books.
Submissions are currently closed.[1]
Accepted Fanworks
Stories must be betaed and conform to the romantic pairings established in canon, which include:
- Harry/Ginny
- Ron/Hermione
- Remus/Tonks
- James/Lily
- Molly/Arthur
- Bill/Fleur
- Teddy/Victoire
- Andromeda/Ted
- Lucius/Narcissa
- Vernon/Petunia
- Luna/Rolf Scamander
The archive also permits Neville/Luna, Dean/Luna, and Percy/Penelope works, as the pairings are seen as "ambiguous." For example, J.K. Rowling has said in interviews that "she is intrigued by a Neville/Luna pairing, that she's intimated a growing closeness between Luna and Dean and that Luna marries Rolf Scamander, Newt Scamander's son, later in life," so any of those pairings are fair game.
It will also accept gen fics and those containing pairings that do not contradict the canon and are "in keeping with canon characterizations." This includes Snape/Lily friendship fics, but not "fluffy, fuzzy, long-winded, multi-chaptered mushiness involving these two."[1]
While PhoenixSong.net does accept stories with adult content "on a case-by-case basis," it does not accept strictly sexually-oriented stories longer than five chapters and will instead direct them to TheBroomCupboard, PhoenixSong.net's sister site. Additionally, it does not accept:
- Works with student/teacher relationships
- Crossovers
- Stories involving Harry, Ron, Hermione, or Ginny in any long-term relationship but the above pairings.[1]
