The Naruto Summer Zine was a 2017 charity zine in the Naruto fandom with a theme of summertime. From the June 2017 zine announcement post:
The zine was SFW and proceeds went to Immigration Equality[3] which was chosen by the contributors.[1] The zine considered shipping with buttons, stickers, prints, bookmarks, keychains, or postcards[4] and decided on charms and buttons.[3] The zine sales were tiered, with more money getting more extras.[5]
Development and Timeline
Applications opened on tumblr on June 28th, 2017, calling for 20-30 artists and writers.[2] Originally applications were supposed to close on July 20th with applicants contacted about their status the next day,[2] but the zine got so many applications that the close of applications was first changed to July 15th[6] and then finally to July 10th.[7][8] The zine received about 65 applicants as of July 7th,[9] so the editor was unable to commit to contacting rejected applicants.[10]
As of July 10th, when applications closed, the schedule was:

Each writer and artist got one 7x10" page for their work[11] and all artists and writers got a free copy of the zine.[12]
The guest artist list was primarily composed of tumblr users.[13] Artists listed below whose names referred to twitter users have been marked with an asterisk:

The zine was sold on tictall and pre-orders opened on August 30th.[3]

The zine pre-orders were going to close at the end of September[14] but were extended into the first week of October.[15]
Shipping was delayed in November[16] but the editor hoped to start shipping by early December.[17] On December 8th in response to an ask looking for more shipping info, the editor said:
I’m waiting on a proof from the manufacturer, and then it’ll be 2-3 days for production of the zines then another 5-10 days for shipping! I thank you all for being so patient with me and you will all have the zines soon! :)[18]
The zines arrived to the editor on December 17th[19] and went out on December 18th[20] According to the zine tumblr, the zine sold out.[21]
