In the years after the Garfunkel and Oates song, "You, Me and Steve" came out in 2009, a number of fannish videos were made for the song around trios of characters from various fandoms, including a fairly popular one for Pepper Potts, Tony Stark and Steve Rogers.
The song has been frequently used in fandom crack vids. In around 2020, a clip from the song was posted on TikTok and has trended in a few variations a couple of times since. While many TikTokers made videos about their own personal relationships, new fannish interest in the song was also piqued and many fandom trios were inserted into the clip.
The most commonly trending section of the song on TikTok was the section:
"I can't believe

with the final line being repeated as many times as the creator wanted to give examples for.
