The Kingdom Hearts fandom has a variety of specific terms and acronyms that commonly appear in discussion about the series.

General Terms

  • Anti - a nickname for Sora's Anti-Form transformation in Kingdom Hearts II (2005), in which Sora takes on an appearance similar to that of the Heartless and attacks enemies with his bare hands. Popular fanon often portrays Sora's behavior in this form as more animalistic and feral.
  • Cable Town - Fan name for an original world featured in concept art for Kingdom Hearts III (2019) at an exclusive fan event in 2014. This location would later be confirmed to appear in KH3 as Scala ad Caelum.
  • Dark Seeker Saga - Official term for the games released between 2002 and 2019 which featured incarnations of Xehanort as the main villains.
  • Gayblade (1) - A derogatory name for Kairi's Keyblade,[1] which first appeared in Kingdom Hearts II. "Gay" was used as a pejorative (in the sense of offensive popular lingo before the 2010s) to refer to Kairi's Keyblade, which many fans derided as egregiously floral and girly in its design.
  • Gayblade (2) - A humorous or affectionate term for the Combined Keyblade summoned by Sora and Riku in Dream Drop Distance (2012) and Kingdom Hearts III. This Keyblade is formed by the union of Sora's and Riku's Keyblades, has a partially rainbow color scheme, and has a paopu fruit (a symbol of eternal connection) as its keychain, leading fans to sincerely or jokingly view the Keyblade as a manifestation of Sora and Riku's romantic love for each other.
  • Geezernort - Master Xehanort, the overarching villain of the series up to Kingdom Hearts III.
  • Heart Hotel - fan term for the characters whose hearts have been absorbed into Sora's over the course of the series, including Roxas, Xion, Ventus, and Vanitas.
  • Kingstagram - fan term that appeared in 2019 following the release of Kingdom Hearts III to refer to the in-universe social media posts that appeared on the game's loading screens.
  • MelMem - Abbreviation of Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory (2020)
  • Norted/Norting - fan term to describe characters being possed by main villain Xehanort.
