Leaf/Red, known mostly as BurningLeafShipping and/or 赤葉 (Akaba, meaning "red leaf"), is a common ship in the Pokémon fandom. It pairs Leaf (Leaf) and Red (Red), the female and male playable characters in Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green respectively.
The two characters have only appeared in the Pokémon game series. Their cross-canon counterparts in the the Pokémon Special manga, Blue and Red, are shipped to form LuckyShipping.
Leaf & Red, the non-romantic version of their relationship, is more popular.

-Shipping Name Origin
The exact origin of "BurningLeafShipping" might be unknown, though it's likely a play on how fire (red) burns leaves. The ship was coined in February 2007 on Bulbagarden in a poll.[Notes 1] It used to also have a small section on Bulbapedia, which can be seen here (in archived form), Archived version.
"LuckyShipping" has a relatively odd history. It was widely used for female Blue[Notes 2]/Red in the Special side of the fandom by at least 27 April 2005.[Notes 3] Around the same time, between February 25[Notes 4] and 15 December 2005[Notes 5], it was coined on Bulbagarden as the ship name for Robert and May. This was back when the Neverending Romance ship list was primarily created and used by the PokéAni side of the fandom. Sometime before 12 October 2007 however it was changed so it was for both pairings.[Notes 6] As of 2025, it still lists it for both pairings as well as Green Oak/Yellow.
