Elio/Selene, known mostly as LuminaryShipping and/or ヨウミヅ (Youmidzu), is a common ship in the Pokémon fandom. It pairs Elio (You) and Selene (Mizuki), the male and female playable protagonists from Pokémon Sun and Moon respectively.

The Pokémon Special cross-canon counterpart to this pairing, DeliveryShipping, which pairs Sun and Moon, is more popular.

-Shipping Name Origin

Elio/Selene's ship name has a complicated history. The first known name coined for the pairing was EclipseShipping, submitted to the official tumblr for the Neverending Romance ship name list, considered the masterlist for all Pokémon ships ever conceived, on 19 May 2016.[1] By 31 December, it was considered their 'official' name.[Notes 1]

However, the name "EclipseShipping" had already been coined for Tate and Liza's Solrock and Lunatone, a very rare pairing with little to no fan activity, and it was added in error since any -shipping names on the list were considered used and irreplaceable during this time. Although this error was pointed out to the curator of the list, esm8m, on 03 February 2017,[2] they stepped down later in 2017 without ever actually removing the entry. As of 2025, it's still considered official for both pairings since Manqoba, the curator of the list as of 2019, allows for duplicate entries.

On 15 November 2016, "LuminaryShipping" was coined by stellargate on tumblr for Elio/Selene.[3] It's a play on the sun (Elio) and moon (Selene) giving off light. This is their most popular -shipping name, though it is not considered their 'official' name on the Neverending Romance ship name list, however. Like EclipseShipping, "LuminaryShipping" was already the pairing name of Bonnie/Satsuki, another very rare pairing with little to no fan activity, thus it couldn't be added. It may have also never been brought to the attention of the list moderator before they stepped down later in 2017.

EclipseShipping hasn't been adopted by shippers since it is used for the much more popular Malik/Yami Malik from Yu-Gi-Oh! and to a lesser extent Kai/Shade from Ninjago, thus any fanworks for them would be buried in search results on social media sites.
