Hogwarts Kansatsu Nisshi (ホグワーツ観察日誌, Hogwarts Observation Journal) is a Harry Potter doujinshi by Meganeya and Tenkuran, featuring Harry, Ron, and Hermione. It is often incorrectly titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone because it is prominently printed on the cover,[1][3] but that's just the book it's based on.
In English-speaking fandom, this doujinshi has been one of the most sought-after and thus most expensive Harry Potter doujinshi, especially when it was first published at the height of HP fandom, when one copy of the doujinshi was sold for over $150.[3] One fan explains:
- "[Hogwarts Kansatsu Nisshi] was actually my Holy Grail of doujinshi collecting. When I finally found it, I was estatic. Of course, part of the reason why that doujinshi went for [$]150 at the time it was sold was because it was the first Harry Potter doujinshi found on ebay. It's still the oldest doujinshi I have in my collection, in terms of first publish date."[4]
In recent years, however, the price of the book seems to have decreased dramatically.[2][1]

J・K・ローリング著、「ハリー・ポッターと賢者の石」の本です。眼鏡屋協会の平 那岐氏との合同誌。ハリー、ロン、ハーマイオニーの３人組中心でギャグ、ほのぼの、シリアス有。一応人物紹介らしきものと、１～４巻の簡単なあらすじもあります。ホグワーツ魔法学校ネタ多数。シリアスは私がハリーの暗い話(笑)、平さんが３人組の心和むような友情話を描いています。何かかわいらしい印象の変な本ですが愛はこもってますよ！（主にハリーに(笑)）[5]

I. Spent. Over. $150. For. This. Doujinshi. *_* BUT IT'S SO MAUO'S HARRY POTTER BOOK!! THE ONE I LONGED FORRRRR!!!! =P It would have been better if it had Draco x Harry (or even just Draco!! grrrr.. no one in Japan likes him!!) in it, but hell, beggars can't be choosers. This is my most expensive doujinshi to date... and the Twins are SOOOO adorable in this!!! KyAAAAAA! (oh, and INCREDIBLY Sexy!Harry on the back cover.. meow!) ^^;;; I'm terrified of ruining this book cause it cost me so much, so.. uh.. don't mail me to scan the pages. ^^;;;;-- Ruaki of Komik City, 2000 or 2001[3]
Half of this book is by Nagi Taira, the artist of Megane-ya, but definetely [sic] the most wonderful thing is that a lot of the dj is by So Mauo herself. ^v^ Her art is so nice, and everyone looks just like I they do in my imagination. The stories are humourous in nature, with the trio, and just a teensy bit of Fred, George, and McGonagall. Lots of nice and inventive illustrations.
