Het Girl

Het Girl is an ambiguous term used by some One Direction fans who believe that bandmembers Harry and Louis are in a secret gay relationship (aka Larries). The term is a way of labeling fans who think that Harry and Louis are straight. However, based on miscellaneous 1D tumblr posts, it also seems to mean fans who are sexually attracted to one of the band members, e.g. "Harry het girls" or "Louis het girls", especially those fans who have no sense of shame[1] or those fans who they say are deluded into thinking that they have a chance at dating a bandmember[2]. "Het girl" has also been used as a synonym for anti-larrie.[3]
love het girls doesnt mean your sexuality it means it’s fans who want to sleep with the boys or believe they’re busy doing womanizing things. or basically anti larries who despise anything gay between the band.[4]
Other fans had some opinions on Larries' use of the word "het" to describe anti-Larries and other non-Larries:
To take that criticism and label it "het" is to claim a mantle of queerness–THE mantle of queerness–that the truther community has no fucking claim to.... "Het" is not their word to change. Using it to label queer fans who are grossed out by the rampant homophobia employed by truthers is one of the most despicable things they’ve done, and that’s a pretty fucking long list.[5]
"het girls" is hands down the ugliest term/label this fandom has ever created please eradicate it from your vocabulary it's so gross[6]
Origin?
It is unclear whether het girl originated in 1D fandom, was independently reinvented, or was imported from J2.
It should be noted that although Larries are essentially slashers, Larry as a ship seems to have attracted a younger demographic than other 1D slash ships, and teenage 1D fandom has produced a lot of het fanfic with self-insert OFCs. (For example, see the archive One Direction FanFiction.) Although their characterization is offensive, Larries may be attempting to describe their peers (who older slash fans wouldn't notice). Another factor at play is projection, as the majority of Larries are in the boyband target demographic, and may be resentful of teen fangirl stereotypes while also living up to them. Several former larries confessed to wanting Larry to be real precisely because they were jealous of 1D's girlfriends.[7][8]
In Other Fandoms
The term hets is also used by J2 tinhats to describe fans who think that Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are heterosexual.[9] Both actors are married to women.
