Cedric/Harry is a Harry Potter fanon pairing of Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter.
Canon
Harry and Cedric meet in The Goblet of Fire. They are both chosen as Hogwarts Champions during the Triwizard Tournament. Voldemort kills Cedric in front of Harry and Harry brings his body back to Hogwarts.
Fandom
The ship name HMS Tale of Two Seekers was used in the early days of the fandom but has fallen almost completely out of use, with a LiveJournal community entirety dedicated to it in its early years.
Common Tropes
Although Harric is not the most popular of HP slash pairings, it has developed a series of tropes strongly associated with it.
- Afterlife - Where Cedric and Harry reconnect in the afterlife
- First Time - Where Cedric and/or Harry experience their first time, often in the Prefect's Bathroom, which due to canon, heavily connects both of them.
- Tragic Love - Where Cedric's canonical death always looms in the distance, as something either that can be avoided, or is inevitable.
- Time Travel - Where to reverese Cedric's death, Harry travels back in time.
Fans often refer to Cedric as "Ced", a nickname of his from canon, and Harry often doesn't get any, but some fics has his nickname as "Haz".
Side characters often include Cho Chang, who in early fics for the ship was often bashed, because she was seen as an obstacle to the pair, since she canonically dated both Cedric and Harry. This practice has died out in recent years, as writers, write her in as a supportive friend, or leave her out entirely.
Other side characters are Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger often as supportive friends of Harry, and Amos Diggory as both a supportive father to Cedric, and also a demanding father, expecting a lot out of his son. There are a lot of original characters to fill out the supporting cast.
The ship size has grown exponentially over the years, but it still remains a very rare ship in terms of the overall Harry Potter fandom.
