Hakumor is a het ship from Magi between Hakuryuu Ren and Morgiana.

Canon

Hakuryuu developed a crush on Morgiana when the both were in Sindria. However, when he confessed and proposed, she thanked him of his feelings but couldn't reciprocate. Hakuryuu vowed that he would ask her to be his empress again, but after he fell into depravity, Hakuryuu felt anger at Morgiana and Alibaba and said that he would kill them. After Hakuryuu seemingly killed Alibaba and was contemplating suicide, Morgiana appeared, revealing that she had been in love with Alibaba. She said that she would keep an eye on Hakuryuu from then on.

The two ended up teaming up with Aladdin as they were escaping Sinbad's watchful eye to the Dark Continent. There, when the Kinans are suggesting that Hakuryuu and Morgiana have something between them, Hakuryuu feels embarrassed and tries to tell them that Morgiana's heart belongs to someone else, as he doesn't want such rumours to reach Morgiana's ears. After a three-year-long time skip, Alibaba comes back and him and Morgiana get engaged. Hakuryuu feels a bit down about this, but doesn't protest. He attends Alibaba and Morgiana's wedding.

Fanon

Hakumor is the typically known ship name, and it's the same in Japanese: 白モル (Hakumoru). The ship has decent popularity, not being among the most or the least common ones in both English and Japanese-speaking fandoms. It is among the most common het ships, however. Because of this, it's ofter brought up in circles that are not so focused on slash ships.

Alimor and Hakumor had a bit of a canon love triangle situation going on, despite Hakuryuu's feelings for Morgiana having been declared one-sided relatively early on. Hakumor shippers still held hope that she would change her mind. Therefore, many of the shippers were very angry and disappointed when Alimor got engaged. Some had become hopeful during the Final Arc, as Hakuryuu and Morgiana were cooperating again, and fans were trying to use panels to show that the way Hakuryuu and Morgiana looked at each other would prove that Hakumor was about to become canon after all. This also resulted in a lash of hate against Alimor from Hakumor and Alikou shippers, a reaction which became a target of ricidule on 4chan. Nowadays, the flames have mostly cooled off as those who felt like the series was ruined with the canonization of Alimor have mostly left the fandom. Majority support on sites like Reddit seem to favour Alimor, and Tumblr is still likely the most Alimor-critical community.

Important to note is that the "ship war" of these ships mostly existed in the form of angry rants on Tumblr. There was no hate campaigns against users (though singular individuals getting hate might have happened), but the overtly negative attitude against Alimor on Tumblr caused many to be too afraid to voice their support for it. It is not considered to be a ship war by some fans as it never escalated to the point that many ship wars in the past have. This ship war seems to have been mostly an English-speaking fandom issue.

A 4chan user collected a Hall of Anal Devastation album about Hakumor and Alikou fans' angry reactions towards the canon endgame ships.

Tropes

Hakumor fans usually hold onto the early parts of the series, such as their time in Sindria, and Hakuryuu's confession. Hakumor works almost always feature a softer Hakuryuu who only wants to be good to his wife, fighting side by side with her for a good cause, and not the Hakuryuu from the later arcs who started a civil war and killed his mother. It is a lot about of what "could have been". For the fans that still shipped it in the Final Arc, they imagined that the two would've made up over the time skip and started dating, and that Morgiana would've changed her mind about him, giving him a second chance.

Hakumor fans typically like that the two have similar pasts in the sense the they have both lost family members and could bond over it and help each other heal.

Criticism

The ship has faced some criticism, mainly for Hakuryuu's behaviour. For example, Hakuryuu grabbed Morgiana and kissed her without warning or consent, which has caused some fans to feel uncomfortable. Some Hakumor fans have also been ridiculed for saying that Hakuryuu would've been a more loving and respecting partner towards Morgiana after Hakuryuu had already threatened to kill her.

Honestly, I’ve always loved this pairing since the beach scene. Just seeing how Hakuryuu cheered her up and encouraged her made me fall. They both have constantly been helping the other out, even when not needed. In Zagan’s dungeon, she looked out for him and helped any moment he was in danger, even when he demanded she leave him alone, because she knows there are people who care for him and worry for him.

Then there’s Hakuryuu, who’s just encouraging her to see the brighter side of things. He’s just taken aback by her strength and her beauty, even falling in love when she showed her vulnerability to him. She’s just… amazing in his eyes.

Also don't like Hakuryuu x Morgiana (Juhaku ftw) because its clearly one sided and Morgiana obviously loved Alibaba and was gonna end up with him. It also felt kind of rushed, Hakuryuu's feelings with her. I mean I guess it makes sense why he liked her I just never liked the thought of them together.

I agree with Hakumor. I never understood what people saw in it, I saw no chemistry between them, if not compeltely one sided. It's like a reverse SasuSaku (if you know naruto, then you know) just bad mostly on Hakuryuu's side. Ohtaka showed us why it would never happen, from Hakuryuu forcefully kissing her and wanting to kill her because she rejected him. Yes he redeemed himself but I never liked them together. A big no for me. Plus AliMor has my heart, I was so happy when they became canon. Say what you want about Alibaba but at least he respects her and Morgiana loved him, not Hakuryuu.

I honestly thought Morgiana and Hakuryuu were great together and I would’ve love to see them fleshed out more, they came from similar backgrounds and could really understand each other to a point, Alibaba is great for her but I just wish he could understand her a bit more and her past like Hakuryuu

Hakuryuu was the first man to show romantic interest in Morgiana. I will admit that I started to side eye him after he said that he would kill the real Morgiana soon while he and Judar were conquering Belial’s dungeon, but meh. He changed and clearly still had feelings for her after he left the room when Alibaba proposed to her. Aladdin even felt the need to cheer him up.

I don't like hakumor for a variety of reasons, but in MY opinion they had little to no chemistry and Hakuryuu's feelings for her felt rushed and all of a sudden and it's like we're meant to believe she's the love of his life despite him knowing her for like, 1 month? I didn't buy it. Not to mention when he kissed her without consent and later fantasized about killing her because she rejected him...and then killed the guy who she was actually in love with. And its weird because I notice some people who pioneer for this ship kinda overlook his problematic behavior towards her but can point out that one dumb comment Alibaba made...as if that's worse than forcing a kiss onto someone and later wanting to kill them so yeah hakumor is a huge NOPE for me. He had better chemistry and bonded better with Judar and I don't even like juhaku as a ship.
