Slightly off-topic? page ideas:

  1. While trying to find groups on yahoo groups, I noticed that there are a lot of subdirectories--some fic mailing lists are in a "Fan Fiction" subdirectory, and some are not. Site organization could be something to describe on the Yahoo! Groups page.
  2. Character Call as a glossary term? I never encountered it before, but have now found an entire group devoted to it[1] It seems to mean putting out a call for fans to provide personal info so you can write them in as characters in your fic? Possibly a music RPF thing?

Can confirm that character calls are A Thing; they existed in Hanson yahoo groups too. Once I get caught up on documenting the groups themselves, I can try to tackle the glossary term. Themayqueen (talk) 23:57, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

Alice's list

Alice has put her Fan Email Lists back online temporarily. However, the cached version of Fan Email Lists contains features that the later version (the one she posted) doesn't have, so I think we should continue linking to both versions. --duskpeterson (talk) 00:44, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

Thank you. Can you put the link to the uncached version here? --MPH (talk) 01:06, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

Subcategories

Hi, I noticed a lot of Yahoo! Groups pages and I'm considering creating some subcategories. I'm looking particularly at Buffy and Harry Potter fandoms (there are probably other fandoms in need of a subcategory that I'm unaware of), and I was wondering if it'd be okay to create a Yahoo! Groups subcategory for these fandoms? Both of these fandoms already have a subcategory for Mailing Lists, so I'm also wondering if any Yahoo! Groups category should be a subcategory of mailing lists? (I already left a talk page message on Category talk: Buffyverse Mailing Lists before spotting this project)--Auntags (talk) 22:26, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
