Category talk:Bandom

So I thought I understood this whole category business, but now I'm confused again. I'm not sure which categories should be included on Bandom (Decaydance+ ...) pages, or really which categories should exist at all. I'm going to try to organize my myriad of questions the best I can. And I shall number them semi-logically and bold them because this is kind of tl;dr.
- We have Category:Real People > Category:Music RPF > Category:Bandom
- Q1.1: Is Category:Bandom specifically for Bandom (Decaydance+)-related pages, or also for pages for Bandom (Music Source Text) and other definitions?
- Q1.2: The category seems to be primarily made up of Decaydance+ pages except for terminology-related pages and Led Zeppelin. Does Led Zeppelin belong here? In my (albeit limited) understanding of the terminology, it might fall under Bandom (Music Source Text) -- so perhaps 'yes' depending on Q1.1 -- but then why aren't Tokio Hotel, Hanson, Category:Duran Duran also "Category:Bandom"?
- Q1.3: If Category:Bandom isn't particular to Decaydance+, should there be a subcategory of it that is? What would it be called? ("Category:Bandom (Decaydance+, My Chemical Romance Source Text)" seems like a bit much.)
- The are a few different types of pages that relate to the Bandom (Decaydance+) fandom. Q2: What categories should be added to each type of page?
- Type 1: "Sub-fandom" pages, e.g. Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance. These automatically get Category:Real People because of their infobox, and I assume Category:Bandom is necessary. Q2.1: Should Category:Music RPF be added even though Category:Bandom is already a subcategory of it?
- Type 2: Pages relating to a certain "sub-fandom," e.g. Gerard Way or Waycest. Q2.2: Do these get a Category:My Chemical Romance that is a sub-category of Category:Bandom? Q2.3: If yes, does it still get Category:Bandom? Does it get Category:Music RPF?
- Type 2: General Bandom terms/"crossovers" within Bandom, e.g. Pete/Mikey or Van days. Q2.4: Do these just go in Category:Bandom (even assuming we have Category:My Chemical Romance etc)? Q2.5: Is a sub-category of Bandom Category:Bandom Pairings appropriate if there are many pairing pages? Q2.5.1: If yes, would Waycest go in Category:Bandom Pairings AND Category:My Chemical Romance?
Sorry for my wordiness and general lack of understanding. I appreciate any clarification :)

- Bandom (Decaydance+, My Chemical Romance Source Text) is a fandom, like Star Trek. Closest RPF equivalent would be Popslash. Popslash is the umbrella term for fan works about NSync, BSB, Britney, Christina, Pink and sometimes Eminem. Each of these could get their own fandom subcats if there were enough pages to make this necessary (there need to be at least 15 pages to justify a new category). Right now the Bandom fandom cat doesn't have enough pages for subcategories. Led Zeppelin doesn't belong in the bandom fandom cat for this particular Music RPF fandom and I would list them under Music RPF. If they are part of the other bandom, then there should be two bandom fandom cats (just like there are two Hawaii Five-O cats, one for 1968 and one for 2010). --Doro 19:25, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! That makes sense :). One last thing: if a page is in, say, Category:Bandom, does it not go in Category:Music RPF because Bandom's already in Music RPF, or is that not necessarily the case?
