Candice is a Pokémon Gym Leader from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. She is well-liked with fans, though not too many fanworks exist which primarily focus on her. She also makes appearances in Pokémon Masters, PokéAni and Pokéspe.
The Pokémon Candice is most associated with are Mamoswine, Glaceon and Abomasnow.
Canon Overview
Candice first appears in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, where she is the gym leader of Snowpoint City and specialist in the Ice type. She is also the guardian of Snowpoint Temple, where the player can encounter the legendary Pokémon Regigigas. In Platinum, Candice is shown to be close with her fellow Sinnoh gym leader, the Fighting-type specialist Maylene. Maylene tells the player that she and Candice train Pokémon together. Maylene also mentions that she "admires" Candice due to how "studious" she is. Later in the game, the player can listen in on a conversation between the two at the Resort Area's Villa, where it's also implied that Eterna City's gym leader Gardenia is a mutual friend of theirs. In the Generation IV remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Candice and Maylene fight alongside each other in the master class double battle format at the Battle Tower. In the Pokémon anime, Candice is shown to be a childhood friend of the anime-exclusive character Zoey.[1][2]
Relationships
- Candice is most commonly paired up with Maylene, forming GlistenShipping, which is F/F, aka Girls' Love. In Japanese, this is most often called スズスモ, meaning Candice is the tachi and Maylene is the neko in the coupling.
