Aberforth Dumbledore is the younger brother of Albus Dumbledore, and a member of the Order of the Phoenix. The two had a younger sister, Ariana Dumbledore, who died at a young age. Aberforth harboured bitterness towards his brother, blaming him for their sister's death, and broke his nose during her funeral.
Aberforth is the barkeeper at the Hog's Head inn in Hogsmeade village, Scotland. He was once arrested for "practicing inappropriate charms on a goat".
Although Albus claims not to be sure Aberforth could read, Aberforth nevertheless is a skilled wizard, capable of producing a corporeal Patronus (which takes the form of a goat).
Fandom
Aberforth's affinity for goats is a common theme in fanworks. Although still rare, the most popular pairing for Aberforth is Snape/Aberforth.
He is sometimes given the nickname "Abe" by fans, although this was never used in canon. Neville Longbottom calls him "Ab" in Deathly Hallows.
Example Fanworks
