In the Harry Potter series of books, the Order of the Phoenix was a secret society created by Albus Dumbledore whose goal was to defeat Lord Voldemort. The Order was founded in the 1970s, disbanded after Voldemort's disappearance in 1981, and reinstated in 1995 after Voldemort's return to full force.
Fanworks about the Order have been set during both the First Wizarding War in the 1970s and the Second Wizarding War in the 1990s. There is some overlap between Order of the Phoenix fanworks and Marauders fanworks, as the Marauders were all members of the Order during the First Wizarding War.
Order of the Phoenix is also the name of the fifth book in the series.
