Yami Yugi/Yugi Moto, also known by the name Puzzleshipping, is the pairing of the characters Yami Yugi and Yugi Moto from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. It is one of the series most popular ships.

Fanon

Puzzleshipping is sometimes criticizes for being too close to selfcest or just incest, since the series never makes it clear if Yugi is an descendant of Atem's, an reincarnation of him or if they are just similar in appearance but unrelated by blood (though the fact that Atem sacrificed himself when he was 16 suggests that it is unlikely he is an direct descendant). Another point of contention is Atem's age, with some thinking their relationship has too big of a age difference thanks to Atem being born over 3000 years ago.

Ship Name

The nickname Puzzleshipping, like most of the Pairing Names for Yu-Gi-Oh ships, comes from an element from the series: the Millennium Puzzle, which connects their souls together and is an very important object to the plot. The ship has another alternate name from when it is pairing Yugi with Atem, the ancient Egyptian version of Yami: Blindshipping.
