Umbrony was a fan artist and roleplayer best known as the creator of the Hamilton askblog ask-crammaster-ham.

Umbrony was active on DeviantArt starting in 2014 and ran a number of roleplaying accounts there.

She started created Hamilton Modern College AU fanworks on her Tumblr before creating a separate ask blog for the concept.[1][notes 1] The blog, only active for a brief period in September 2017, was quick to receive backlash for its character reinterpretations, including the widely-circulated character sheet known as "Miku Binder Thomas Jefferson".

Umbrony responded to the backlash to her Hamilton art in a September 15, 2019, post: pretty soon, the hamilton fandom is going to have little to no artists of color. and here’s why. Umbrony stopped drawing art for or interacting with Hamilton fandom, but continued to create other fanart. The ask-crammaster-ham blog was deleted sometime around early 2020.

She became involved in Game Grumps fandom and created Egobang artwork, something that she later apologized for and said she stopped because "shipping real people is creepy".[2] She was involved in the creation of NSP Zine, a Ninja Sex Party charity artbook.

In June 2020, following further criticism on Twitter, Umbrony deleted her social media accounts but later revived her Twitter to post an apology and announce that she was "letting the Umbrony alias die, and taking a very, VERY long break from social media."[2]

  1. ^ Umbrony stated on Twitter on 30 June 2020 that at the time of creating ask-crammaster-ham she went by he/him pronouns but now goes by she/her.
