Removal of the ship war blurb

The Stucky vs Stony ship war blurb was removed and I don't really understand why. I think Kingstoken did a great job with it — it's brief, sure, and... maybe it could use expansion? Although not having been involved I can't say. But I think the Steve Rogers/Tony Stark page is exactly the sort of place that a ship war involving Steve/Tony belongs. I mean, like the note says it could certainly be linked on the shipwar page, but I think it belongs here and I'm not really a fan of it having been removed without any discussion. - Hoopla (talk) 19:51, 6 October 2018 (UTC)

I very much agree with Hoopla, I think a very short blurb and a link to the main article is perfectly relevant here. All other pairings involved in ship wars have links to the their ship war articles, at least that I have seen, if the reader is interested finding out more info they can click through. I thought about undoing the edit, but I'm not sure I want to start an edit war. If we can come to a consensus on the talk page then we can re-add the info or not -- Kingstoken (talk) 20:35, 06 October 2018 (UTC)
Yes, I also hesitated to just put it back where it was because I didn't want to start an edit war... I know that there's limited room in the summary, but the removal note just seems very aggressive to me, especially since I don't understand what the problem is at all. Maybe our fellow editor took the inclusion of information about the ship war to be an act of the ship war itself? Internet fights do get very passive aggressive... or maybe they just felt it wasn't in the right place in the article? It seemed like it should probably be in the MCU section, if indeed the article had a unified MCU section.
But I guess we won't know unless User:Heatseeker comes to the talk page, which they might not know to do, since I created it so recently. Maybe given it a couple days and then leave a note on their talk page? - Hoopla (talk) 21:29, 6 October 2018 (UTC)

Organization or page split?

I haven't done any broad overview of the organization of ship pages yet, but I don't think all of this information should be on one page, or at least it shouldn't be organized this way. At the very least, each canon instance should go:

  1. canon info
  2. fandom info
  3. links to fanworks/meta

However, I think when we split it up like that, we might find that many of the variations need their own main page, the way Batgirl splits things up, although obviously this page would still be more robust than that even if we moved lots of things to their own pages. - Hoopla (talk) 19:51, 6 October 2018 (UTC)

Duplicate Links

If a fanfic for this particular ship already has a dedicated page which is linked here https://fanlore.org/wiki/Category:Steve_Rogers/Tony_Stark_Fanfiction then does it need further representation under the fanworks section of this page? -JadedPrism (talk) 20:33, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
