Talk:Kidfic
I wandered across http://www.littleverse.com/ which might be worth putting in as a link. -- Kdcat 02:47, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure why this has wingfic in the "see also" links; if there's a connection, a line or two of explanation here or on the wingfic page would be helpful, I think.--Penknife 13:33, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- More that it is a type of fic genre that's fairly specific to fandom's language, I think. Like futurefic, or teamfic, it acts as a category to put fic in which really doesn't exist as a category outside of fanfiction. --Seperis 16:02, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- I think it would be better to link to Story Tropes and/or Singular Tropes By Fandom instead, then; otherwise, the "see also" lists for all the fanfic-specific story tropes are going to get awfully crowded. I'd rather save that space for tropes/genres that really are related.--Penknife 16:12, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- Seconded. There are too many types of tropes, and more keep popping up all the time; much better to point back to the big list o' tropes than to try to keep every trope page directly linked to every other trope page. And a see-also list works best when it points to directly related things -- for kidfic, mpreg and curtainfic are much more relevant than, say, wingfic or torturefic. --Arduinna 17:41, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Meta about kidfic
Not sure what to do with it, putting it here for time being.--MegR 09:16, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Rename?
Should this article perhaps be renamed to "Parenthood in Fanworks" to allow its scope to broaden? I'm a little conflicted even though I'm the one putting this proposal forward. I definitely feel that kidfic is an established genre of fic. But at the same time there is fanart, fanvids, etc. that features this trope. Night Rain (talk) 14:41, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
