Starsky and Hutch Appreciation Society (S.H.A.S.) is a gen newsletter published in the UK by Starsky and Hutch Appreciation Society while the show was still on the air.
This zine was the very first Starsky and Hutch zine created.
There were five issues. They included fan fiction, including a serialized "Revenge" story that was never finished.
It has a sister zine, a fiction anthology called Starsky and Hutch Appreciation Society (zine).

- Revenge, part one ("Starsky and Hutch receive a normal call from Headquarters to proceed to a warehouse. On route, the Torino crashes. Starsky regains consciousness to find Hutch is missing and a sniper's bullet lodged in the Torino's back tyre. Meanwhile, Hutch is being tortured and brainwashed into believing Starsky is trying to kill him." [1]
- other unknown content
Issue 2
Starsky and Hutch Appreciation Society 2 was published in April/May/June 1977 and contains 20 pages.
Three hundred issues were printed.
Some commentary following the concert review:
We have had reports that at one or two of the other concerts fans actually booed and jeered, when David introduced Miss Lynne Marta. Personally we think that was more of an insult to David than Lynne. And we hope that his opinion of his English Fans have not changed with that. We none of our members would take part and join in with that sort of behaviour.
From the editor:
We are sorry we are unable to get Poster/mags etc for our members, out as we send out our N/L every quarter, and the P/Mags are monthly we are unable to do this. Of course if we think of anything to overcome this problem with these and other things we'll let you know. An apology for not enclosing tape list with this N/L but we ran out of space. The same goes for the pen friend list. As we have quite a number of members asking for pen friends we are going to have to make a separate list and send them to you. Please accept our apologies.

Fan Comments
Concerning the S.H.A.S. mentioned earlier in letters, there were only five newsletters, if that many released, leaving the continuing story "Revenge" incomplete. They also put out at least one collection of stories similar to our USA zines... But as to whether or not they were controlled by the Monthly Mag, I think not. The Monthly Mag has it's own club still operating and issuing small newsletters. Oh, if anyone has the first four installments of the "Revenge" story and needs the fifth, I've got it with promises of getting the final chapter someday. [2]
