Starsky and Hutch Appreciation Society is a gen newsletter published in the UK by a fan club while the show was still on the air. This zine may be the first Starsky and Hutch zine issued.
There were five issues. They included fan fiction, including a serialized "Sweet Revenge" story that was never finished.
Fan Comments
Concerning the S.H.A.S. mentioned earlier in letters, there were only five newsletters, if that many released, leaving the continuing story "Revenge" incomplete. They also put out at least one collection of stories similar to our USA zines... But as to whether or not they were controlled by the Monthly Mag, I think not. The Monthly Mag has it's own club still operating and issuing small newsletters. Oh, if anyone has the first four installments of the "Revenge" story and needs the fifth, I've got it with promises of getting the final chapter someday. [1]
SHAS, back in the '70s, published the first UK SH stories, written by fans. There were five issues of the SHAS Magazine, published at irregular intervals...mimeo-ed typescript at 65 pence a copy. A real labour of love. [2]
