David Soul was an British-American actor and singer, best known for portraying Detective Kenneth "Hutch" Hutchinson from 1975 to 1979 in the Starsky & Hutch television series.
Some fanworks were created especially for David Soul, and some were ones for both the show and the actor. A.P.B. had a very strong Soul focus, especially on his singing career and concerts (February 1981 to February 1986) and is an example of the latter.
Some zines specifically forbid discussions about the actors. One example was in Zebra Three #1:
Zebra Three is a literary extension of the Starsky and Hutch "universe." It is not affiliated with any Starsky and Hutch fan club, or Soul/Glaser fan clubs, and will not print news, articles, or gossip about the series or the actors.
Some zines allowed commentary and discussion about Soul's career and appearances but disallowed any comments about his complicated personal life.
