Involved in Disputes
1981: Two Editors Part Ways
I [Christine Jeffords] hereby give notice that I am no longer associated with Caliburn Press or with its originators, Mark Walton or [C A B]. Any debts and/or enmities incurred by Caliburn Press or its predecessor, Galactic Flight, should not be directed against me; and no zine henceforth published by either parther, should be presumed to include me on its staff. 1982: Susan Matthews
In the early 1980s, this publisher proposed "Matthews Collected," an anthology of Susan Matthews' fiction. From Jundland Wastes #4: "The only authorized reprint of Susan Matthew's non-Ragnarok SW fiction. Will include 'Left-Hand Jedi,' a never-published-before-story an introduction by the author. May 1982 publication... Phantom Press..."
But there were complications regarding this zine, as well as Matthews' zine fic:
From Docking Bay #1:
If anyone knows (and surely someone out there must?) anything about the unauthorized collection of Susan Matthews' work coming out of Inclination Press in Tucson, Arizona, please contact Susan immediately at [address redacted]. This collection is being printed without the permission of any writer, artist, or editor concerned, and it could hurt Susan's chances of being published professionally. However, the collection being prepared by the Phantom Press in Ramsey, New Jersey, is authorized and does have the consent from everyone involved. In other words, the New Jersey collection is perfectly legal, the Arizona one is definitely not. Please contact Susan if you have any information on the latter.
See The Ragnarok Stories.
