  • Aziraphale having problems with his appearance (for lack of self-confidence or induced by others) and Crowley managing to reassure Aziraphale for said insecurities.
  • Crowley inner thoughts being the funniest thing you'll ever read in your life.
  • The origin of the "Angel" nickname.
  • Wine, lots of wine.
  • Ngk. Ngk is always there - Neil and Terry's fault, because it's from the book, obviously.
  • Azi's manicured hands. Again, if you haven't read the book, I think you should.
  • Crowley's limbs or hips not being attached to his body when he walks.
  • Whatever their AU job is, you always have Crowley in love with plants and Aziraphale living for his books. The bookshop is a constant. The plants are always yelled at.
  • Aziraphale moaning while eating. That is a must have. Also, Crowley is never a great eater, but he loves coffee.
  • Crowley being or acting like a slut (that's not mandatory, sometimes he's just gorgeous).
  • A supportive friend on both side (Anathema, Muriel, Maggie, Nina, Tracy...).
  • Anathema and Newt always being a couple - which is great, because it shows how NOT tossic this fandom is, we all want the canon couples to be happy canon couples.
  • Gabriel being a dick (former lover, actual lover, older brother, villain...).
  • Very talkative sex :)
  • A happy ending - because we can't imagine a world where these two idiots don't end up together.

I don’t know how to feel about the fact that my fic hits all but like, 2 of these. Other than that it’s point for point. Am I predictable or am I doing my job right?[1]

I think this applies more to human AU stories than what I'm writing. But happy endings are mandatory![2]

ALL Good Omens fan fiction can be neatly separated into two categories:
  • Those works where Crowley has but one brain cell, or
  • Those works where the Ineffable Partners have to share one brain cell.
And I think that’s beautiful.[3]

These are so on point! Fantastic list. :) The fandom also seems to have given rise to a version of Beelzebub that is this feisty, fierce, take-no-prisoners, make-no-apologies firecracker who would go to the mat to protect Crowley and, whenever they get together with Gabriel, always, always seems to take him by storm and leave him following along in their wake like a confused duckling. I love this version of Beelzebub.[4]

Yes to everything expect for Gabriel being a dick. Even if I were to ignore season 2 making him a himbo, I always wonder why the fandom ignores how terrible the other archangels are. Michael for example outed Crowley out to hell. I would love it if someone were to mix it up and make the other archangels the dick/ villain. As of season 2 I wouldn’t mind seeing more ineffable bureaucracy as a side pairing to the ineffable husbands[5]

Well, guilty of most of these points. But in my AU, both Gabriel and Michael are pricks. C&A are not that talkative during sex. Oh, and Crowley had a five course dinner at the Ritz and a full Christmas dinner including Plum Pudding! HA! 😆[5]
