Madam Minnie is a Harry Potter fan writer, and is an administrator and co-founder of The Quidditch Pitch. She has also written stories in a handful of other fandoms, such as Supernatural, Star Trek AOS, and Sherlock Holmes.
History
In a 2006 interview, Minnie wrote of discovering fandom:
After reading Goblet of Fire, I wanted more… needed more so I did a search online for Harry Potter and after going through all the merchandise sites, I came across Anya’s Naked Quidditch Match. My husband, sister and I all stayed up reading this amazingly hilarious story. We were printing the story and I would read one page at a time. I couldn’t read it fast enough and by the end, I needed more. Three days later, I was still reading fanfic and found Redblaze’s War and Passion, and the rest, as they say, is history.[1]
In the same interview, she explains the origins of her penname:
- "It came about while reading Naked Quidditch Match. I wanted to write a fanfic after reading that and to be honest with you, I can’t quite remember why I chose Madam Minerva, but after joining a few fanfic sites, the name got cut to Madam Minnie and eventually to Minnie."[1]
Minnie played Harry for two years in the RPG hptriquetra, where she met Annie and Simon's Flower, with whom she later founded The Quidditch Pitch.
In 2012, she was a panelist at Ascendio for "No Closets: What Professional Writers Learned Writing Erotic FanFic," where she lent her perspective as an e-pub agent.[2]
