Canon Representation
- We Are Lady Parts canon focused on multiple female Muslim characters in a band
Characters:
- Adena El-Amin from The Bold Type.
- Basira Hussain from The Magnus Archives
- Halo from Young Justice (TV series) - Halo is a character formed from Gabrielle Daou, a hijabi refugee from the fictional middle eastern nation of Qurac and the spirit of an alien Motherbox. Their portrayal has been praised for avoiding a number of common negative stereotypes but also criticized by some Muslim fans for perceived shallowness and a lack of connection to the faith, along with commentary on the unusually brutal violence they face compared to other characters.
- Kamala Khan from Marvel
- Rasha Zuabi from Degrassi
- Samirah al-Abbas from Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard - Sam was the first confirmed Muslim character in Rick Riordan's mythological universe. She is a hijabi daughter of Loki, and as a result has struggled with her faith. She is engaged to Amir Fadlan, who is also Muslim, and they follow most traditions in relation to their engagement.
- Yasmin Khan from Doctor Who - Yaz was the first onscreen companion of the Doctor to be a Muslim, and though this was largely seen as a positive amongst the progressive side of fandom, it was also criticised for being mostly 'blink and you'll miss it' and largely forgotten about throughout much of her run. Fanworks will often feature Yaz's islamic culture much more prominently.
- Yusuf Al-Kaysani from The Old Guard
- Zari Tomaz from DC's Legends of Tomorrow
The Riz Test is a character test akin to the Bechdel or Aila Test helping to measure the quality of representation of Muslims in the media.

An Enlightening Lesson is based on Naruto and concerns a class about Islam at the Academy. Another Naruto story, Izza's Journey, is about a new Muslim student.
