Sample Lyrics

SLASH ZINE WRITER by Shoshanna (done to the tune of "Paperback Writer" by the Beatles)

Dear Editor, will you read my zine
It took me days to write. (The half-a-page that's clean.)
It's based on an episode from series B,
But it's got lots of sex,
'Cause I want to be a slash zine writer.
It's a tale of Blake, and how he needs a friend,
And his plans for Avon when their watches end--
Plus his secret lust for nearly half the crew--
I have sequels planned,
'Cause I want to be a slash zine writer.
If you think it's awkward, I can try again.
I'll change Blake to Vila, or put Travis in.
Just send a list of what you think it needs,
And I'll fix it up,
'Cause I want to be a slash zine writer.
So I'm sending you my very first shot
At a nifty story with a rousing plot!
Please publish it in my favorite zine--
I want a copy free,
So I want to be a slash zine writer,
Slash zine writer,
Slash zine writer...

Reactions and Reviews

I love this zine! It was one of the first B7 zines I ever acquired. Highly recommended, along with the various tapes on which some of the songs are recorded.

Pat's "Dark Mirror" is my alltime favorite filk. Pat, I think you should put your poetry on the web page, as well as your fiction.

Other special favorites are "Sandglass," "The Ballad of Gauda Prime," and "Anna's Song."
