Controversies
- In 1982, the editor of Osiris Publications wrote an open letter into Datazine (Issue 21) accusing Gemini Press of plagiarism and profiteering from fandom. They also wrote into Universal Translator (Issue 11) detailing the same accusation. In both open letters, they encouraged fans to take action against Gemini Press. Gemini Press's editor responded to these accusations deny both plagiarism and using fans for profit.
- In 1984, Gemini Press was broken up and numerous personal statements regarding the break, who owns what, who took what from whom, and who owes who what to whom were published in Datazine (Issue 30). The ongoing letter feud between I Joan Kokolus and J.R. Janoski would continue across many issues in both Datazine and Universal Translator.
