Con Reports

From a convention report:

That little convention was a real hoot. Sometimes the smaller ones like that make up for in spirit what they lack in everything else. That year's little event was just such an event. The costume contest (or Masquerade as it's called) was a high point of the weekend. I got done up in full kit greasepaint and had at it.

Of course I couldn't put on my greasepaint as well as Willy did. But then, Willy had to do his own face every performance and he was a pro. I was but a mere amateur at this and it showed.

However, it was also a lot of fun!

I made quite the splash in my uniform and camouflage facepaint. Even if I did walk the wrong way off the stage. [1]

The Masquerade was very diverse. Among the other contestants were a Bushy Barbarian, (Chuck Coates), two deadly Female Assassins hell bent on vampire slayings (much to the dismay of Mr. Gear, who was himself dressed like a VAMPIRE!) (Cindy Lewis and myself), and a very small boy dressed as Richard Lynch in his vampire persona. Lynch himself got up and made much of the young chap: it was very cute. [2]
