The Phoenix was a short-lived (5 episodes) science fiction television series on ABC about an ancient alien "Bennu of the Golden Light" who is discovered in a sarcophagus and awakened. It was inspired by Erich von Däniken's books. It starred Judson Scott as Bennu of the Golden Light.
Show Description
From the flyer for On the Wings of Light #2:
A thousand years ago, a gift from another world was sent to Earth -- two people, human, but with special abilities. Intended for our future, they waited in suspended animation. Awakened early from his slumber by the archaeologists who discovered his buried chamber in Peru, Bennu must how search for his partner, Mira. Only she can supply the information lost when his sarcophagus was forced open -- information which included not only her location but also that which he needs to fulfill his ultimate mission on Earth. Dependent on the sun for his powers and the energy he needs to live, Bennu's way is not easy. He is pursued by those who seek to use and control him and by an even deadlier foe from his own world.
Fandom
Some fanfiction explored Bennu's homeworld, which was never shown. Much fanart featured his special medallion.
