Regarding the Zine Title

In the Star Trek original series episode "The Devil in the Dark" (the Horta rock creature episode), the "Chamber of the Ages" was a sacred location to the Horta on Janus VI, where their eggs were stored in the "Vault of Tomorrow". The Horta, speaking through Spock, says "It is the end of life. Eternity stops. Go out into the tunnel. To the chamber of the ages. Cry for the children. Walk carefully in the vault of tomorrow. Sorrow for the murdered children. The thing you search for is there. Go. Go. Sadness. Sadness for the end of things. Go into the tunnel. There is a passageway. Quickly, quickly."

From Bottom of the Table of Contents Page

"Chamber of the Ages" is a reprint zine that will be published periodically as issues go out of print. Vaults 1-6 will no longer be printed. I have taken my favorite story and poem from each issue and included them here. (Vault 5 is not represented by poetry as I could not make up my mind which one). The color inserts were originally done for the covers of Vaults 6, 7, 8, & 10. These issues are also out of print and will be represented in a future Chamber."
