Campamento desventura, known in English as Disventure Camp, is a Mexican web series produced by Odd Nation Cartoons heavily inspired by the Canadian animated fictional reality-TV show Total Drama Island and its sequels. It was previously known as Drama Total Aventura, (ENG: Total Drama Adventure,) and Campamento Aventura, (ENG: Adventure Camp.) It is similar in scope to the existing competition fic variant of Total Drama fanfiction, which attempt to make a season of the show featuring a cast of original contestants and hosts, though this is the only series of note to try this in animated form.

Disventure Camp's original characters and plot have been a big hit, with recursive fanworks for all of them wherever Total Drama fandom can be found. It is Total Drama's largest subfandom by a wide mile.

As of 2025, the show has six iterations and five seasons, with Adventure in 2021 being remade later on and considered non-canonical.

Characters

Each Camp, (Adventure and Disventure,) has a different cast. Unlike Total Drama, contestants are of various ages. Tom is 27 while Karol is 41, for example. Each character gets their own title.

  1. Adventure (later remade as Disventure (2023): Ashley Graham, Will Hughes, Dan Carter, Ellie Parker, Fiore Ricci, Gabby Nowak, Grett Clark, Jake Hamilton, Tom Reed, Lill Davis, Miriam Foster and Nick Milton. Jared Johnson and Vladimir Jensen are its hosts.
  2. Disventure (2022): Aiden Brooks, Yul Kim, Ally Amber, Connor Blake, Hunter Page, James Costa, Kai Mitchell, Karol Jones, Lake Müller, Maggy Lewis, Oliver Bennet, Riya Sharma, Rosa María Rivera and Tess Morgan. Kristal McLean, (daughter of Chris McLean,) and Marcus Reiner are its hosts.
  3. Disventure (2023): Features four new characters not in Adventure (2021), Alec Çelik, Drew LeClair, Derek Johnson, and Trevor McGregor. Jared also is not in this. Eli got her name changed to Ellie.
  4. All-Stars: Kristal McLean, Emily Campbell, Marcus, Oliver, Derek, Trevor, Aiden, Alec, Ally, Ashley, Connor, Ellie, Fiore, Gabby, Grett, Hunter, Jake, James, Lake, Miriam, Riya, Tess, Tom and Yui.
  5. Carnival of Chaos: Derek, Trevor, Emily, Alessio Castelli, Amelie Pierre, Anastasia Sizova, Benji Hattori, Diego Olivo, Hannah Roxas, Isabel Carboni, Ivy Berki, Jade Tanko, Logan Bell, Lynda Anderson, Marissa Xulu, Natalia Baez, Richard Miller, Spencer Lawrence, Ted Gordon, Tristan Vik and Zaid Hakim.

Reception

The series has generally been well-received. One common complaint is that the seasons' English dub's VAs sound uncoordinated or otherwise lacking emotion, likely due to poor voice direction. Another is that Jake and Tom's relationship was not written well. The following comment was posted on an official episode and received 834 likes & 101 replies[1].

UNPOPULAR OPINION: I know everyone loves Tom and Jake but I honestly think Ellie and Gabby’s development as a friendship/couple has been executed far better than Tom and Jake’s. Ellie and Gabby, despite being on opposing teams for the most part, were able to form a quick bond even from the 1st episode without it feeling inorganic or over the top and their development has been gradual and believable. Ellie being the only one who has been consistently kind and encouraging to Gabby as well as not voting her off the team in episode 1. Gabby offering the totum to Ellie as a means of protection and Ellie not only mentioning Gabby’s wild nature instead of avoiding talking about it but being able to use it as a compliment and good attribute back in episode 5 “I like you Gabby, you aren’t afraid to speak your mind.” Gabby and Ellie have always been able to trust each other and Ellie has never felt threatened by Gabby’s wild nature. Tom and Jake’s relationship on the other hand has felt rather forced at times as it’s mainly been just Tom comforting Jake because of the loss of his Grandma or them talking about something mundane and then either one of them laughing or blushing. Tom doesn’t seem to take any romantic interest in Jake until episode 4 where they’re on the boat and it feels really sudden because unlike Gabby and Ellie, we haven’t really seen them connect with each other’s personalities....[2]
