Some Excerpts
[I've been a fan] since it started! The first episode I caught was "Shootout" and I immediately fell in love with the show. Only saw it sporadically during its first run because I was in nursing school followed by a job rotating all three shifts and I didn't have a TV for a lot of that time.
I actually started writing fanfic when I was in grade school. My first one was a Laredo story (boy, am I dating myself or what). I have very fond memories of that cowboy show (Texas Rangers -- a cop cowboy show!) because my father and I would watch it together. My inspiration was the loss of the character I liked best. I was devastated when he left the show. So, I wrote a story with him still in it. Also wrote a Rawhide story in grade school. I didn't write a fanfic again until 2000 -- that was a Man from U.N.C.L.E. story. I searched the Internet for other MFU stories and read lots of those. One day, I decided to search for S&H. Found lots of fanfic that inspired me to write my own.
Perhaps feedback is important for some in the writing process. For me, it can sometimes spur my muse. Mostly, I see feedback as the icing on the cake. I have a counter behind the scenes on each of my stories, so I know people are reading them and that is quite rewarding (the second reward I get; the first one is actually finishing a story I'm not embarrassed by and am willing to share). Getting feedback is such a thrill! It means someone has actually thought that my story was worth a little more time and effort on her part, that it touched them in some way. I would certainly still write without it, but don't get me wrong -- I LOVE icing! I've received nothing but positive feedback. Don't think those that hated my stories would waste their time. As for the most feedback, I'd have to say "The Phoenix and the Dragon," "Immersion," and "Crisscross" have received the most
My current obsession, as I've already mentioned, is Stargate SG-1. I also watch The Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, Navy NCIS, Cold Case, the Law and Orders, 24, The Shield, Nip/Tuck, Monk, Joan of Arcadia, Lost, CSI (just the original). Sounds like a lot, but I save time by either taping them and fast-forwarding through the commercials or I watch them while I'm crafting. Absolutely no reality shows. And no, nothing resembling S&H -- it's in a class by itself.
