Asahina x Ishimaru, most known as Ishihina and/or Ishiasa, is a rarepair within Dangan Ronpa fandom. The ship is between Aoi Asahina and Kiyotaka Ishimaru. While Asahina is a prominent character within the series, Ishimaru only appeared in Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and its adaptations. It has been shipped since Trigger Happy Havoc was released in 2010.
Asahina x Ishimaru is somewhat controversial for pairing two students in a Het relationship who are typically in the more popular same-sex pairings Asahina x Oogami and Ishimaru x Mondo respectively. Direct flames are rare, however, and typically happen by proxy, such as when the Game Grumps' Let's Play revived overall Ishimaru sexuality discourse in 2020.
