These are the Voyages is a gen 88-page collection of Star Trek: TOS stories written by Geoff Allshorn.
Most of the art is by Greg Franklin except for two pieces which are by Geoff Allshorn (uncredited).
The zine was was published in Victoria, Australia and is dedicated to Gene Roddenberry, Diane Marchant, and Jesus Christ (this last dedication was in line with Diane's Catholic faith, which became increasingly important to her as she got older. She later expressed puzzlement to Geoff that Gene uncharacteristically failed to respond to this zine as he traditionally did to new fanzines with a thank you letter, and Geoff wondered if it may have been because this religious reference may have offended Gene's humanist sensibilities).
From the Author's Foreword
"These Are The Voyages" was originally conceived (as the name might suggest) as a series of stories that followed the "Star Trek" series, answering questions surrounding individual episodes, and threading together the episodes and movies. Lack of time to do justice to the concept, and dwindling inspiration, shelved that idea. Still, I felt that perhaps by collecting some of my stories, I might be able to share some of the pleasure that it is still possible to receive from a television show conceived nearly twenty years ago.Some personal notes on some of the stories for your interest:
"Anera" is a story rather obviously based on the episode "Arena", but the names are not the only thing in mirror image!
"Troublesome Tribbles" is likewise largely based upon two of my favourite episodes, one of which is obviously, "The Trouble With Tribbles". I'm not telling what the other episode is; read the story and work it out!
"Requiem" is a tribute to actor Mark Lenard, and a tongue-in-cheek explanation as to how he kept popping up as a Romulan, a Vulcan, a Klingon...
"Death of a Desk Job" is a poem that explores Kirk's feelings at the start of "Star Trek - The Motion Picture" when he gets back the Big E. "James's Bond" is my favourite story, and was also the inspiration for:
"That's What Friends Are For" which is my most substantial (ie. the biggest) "Star Trek" story, and was an experiment in creating what is affectionately called "schmaltz" to order. Although it is based upon the same theme as "James's Bond" and was never originally intended to be printed in the same magazine as that story, it is included here because it is the opposite treatment of the same theme. (You can work out how much I like Jim Kirk!) Incidentally, "That's What Friends..." was written after ST-TMP, and before Kirk's son (Dave Marcus) was invented for STII, or before that second movie showed that Kirk had retained his rank of Admiral. Hence these minor "mistakes" were correct at the original time of writing.
"The Best of Times" is a tribute to Majel Barrett/Roddenberry's character, explaining why Doc Chapel wasn't in STII.
Of course, all these stories are completely independent of each other, and do not affect the characters or action in any other story. There may even be similarities in these stories that can be simply explained by the fact that some of them were not originally intended to be printed alongside each other.
