Template talk:ProposeDeletion
I like the new notice, but how come the articles tagged with it are not going into Category:DeletionProposed? -- Kingstoken (talk) 11:28, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
- @User talk:Kingstoken Hi! I was thinking. If you changed this category name to "DeletionPropose", the pages that have been marked for deletion with the new DeletionProposed category, the page links will display there. MinecraftFan (talk) 12:09, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
New version needs discussion
I think that the old version was just fine. The new revision has less information and is overly harsh (visually and in wording). We didn't need "a cool new look" for this template which is hardly used much anyway. --Assassin J (talk) 19:19, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
- I agree. Furthermore, I think that changing this template like this counts as vandalism and should be dealt with as such. We don't have quick deletions of pages and editors aren't supposed to use this template, which is information the new template removed. - Hoopla (talk) 19:22, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
- I agree. Global/admin level edits to Templates should be discussed first on the Talk page. I would revert the changes and then ask the original editor to propose their changes here, along with an explanation why they think they are needed and why they made unilateral changes. - Thanks, it has been done. --Assassin J (talk) 20:25, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

- Meh! Sounds good to me. I totally understand that this template is not always used. The template could be improved though. The original template looks plain dull and lacks colour. It is not really the best looking template, but I suppose that we have to be original here, as this is Fanlore, not the most well known Wikipedia. Every wiki should be unique. I'm going to read all of the manuels here on Fanlore, so I'll know the all the rules, instructions and how to contribute to Fanlore. My main goal here is to become an admin here. I am interested in doing anti-vandalism work around here. I like to do patrol the recent changes and revert spam. I also will do article expansions. I am also interested in janitor tasks and improve grammar. That is my goal! My main focus is to make sure that Fanlore is a user-made encyclopedia, and not a playground for vandals! - I agree about the coloring, I understand others who say the red is too harsh, but I find the light blue doesn't draw your eye, so it would be easy to overlook. Maybe we can find something in between -- Kingstoken (talk) 21:16, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
Proposed Wording Change
I find this wording confusing, and propose a change.
Now: This page has been marked for deletion on today's date15 September 2020. If no commentary on the subject is raised on Template talk:ProposeDeletion within 14 days' time, the page will be deleted.

I propose a change in the wording as it is confusing. How about </noinclude> <div {{Style:TagBox}}>This page has been marked for deletion. If no commentary on the subject is raised on [[{{TALKPAGENAME}}]] within 14 days' time after <noinclude>today's date</noinclude>{{subst<includeonly></includeonly>:CURRENTDAY}} {{subst:<includeonly></includeonly>CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:<includeonly></includeonly>CURRENTYEAR}}, the page will be deleted.<includeonly>[[Category:DeletionProposed]]</includeonly></div> <noinclude> MPH 12:30, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
