Template talk:AwardsProfile
I think a lot of awards are associated with a fan community/event (a convention, a list, a newsgroup, an LJ comm...) so there should be a field for that in addition to the type.--Ratcreature 06:44, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
I like it; can I use I yet? How about now? Now? --MegR 10:19, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- Could this maybe put into use?--Ratcreature 08:10, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
- Seconded. Also, can we use the WIP template for er, template pages? Something to mark which ones aren't done?--æthel 04:36, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

- Oh, good god, I'm sorry -- I thought I took the "don't use yet" notice off this in September! Fixing that now. --Arduinna 05:03, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
founder field?
The award template doesn't have a Founder field, but I've seen a number of award pages with the community profile template that use the founder field. Should we add this field to the Awards template?--æthel 23:51, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Removal of Category:Award?
Considering how we now have multiple sub-categories for awards, should we not remove the Award parent category from the template, so articles only get sorted into their subcategory, where appropriate? It'd make the category much easier to navigate? Pengisan (talk) 20:31, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
- There's a way to program in an option to switch out the main Awards category with a fandom-specific subcategory where one is available. Template:Fanfiction uses something that could be copied here, but I don't have permission to edit this template.--aethel (talk) 20:33, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- I think I can set this up to run the same way as Template:Fanfiction but I'm not sure how useful that would be. I'd be adding a new input field to the infobox, |category=. To add a page to a subcategory instead of the parent, you would need to already know the name of the subcategory. So you would need to add |category=Category:Buffyverse Awards, to include a page in the Buffy Awards Category. Would that be useful? Because I don't see a lot of folks, myself included, using the Template:Fanfiction category option. Can anyone see a better option?
- Also I removed the word policy from the instructions. Thanks for flagging that! --Auntags (talk) 00:31, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
- Auntags I can provide a hastebin of relevant code from other templates that I written/edited for other templates if you are willing to put it in yourself, as this template is locked to gardeners. Pinky G Rocket (talk) 02:58, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
