move to top-level

I propose that this page be moved to a top-level page (see Talk:Phantom Menace/RPS), named either The Lord of the Rings RPF or Lord of the Rings RPF. I'd even go with LOTRiPS, but I understand that the acronyms in use for the fandom vary. (I can't recall ever reading any het or gen in this fandom, but there must be some, right?) The FPF subpage should be reviewed as well, though it may not need to move.

Basically, if we don't move this page, we'll run into the same problems we had with the Star Trek pages.--æthel 18:03, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

The acronym in use for the fandom varies - yep. You are right that it's nearly all slash. My personal usage is lotrips, but I think LOTRiPS is slightly more logical and descriptive and less annoying to people whose brains expand acronyms, so I vote for LOTRiPS. Also I find it gratifying to think we might be moved to the top-level. --Msilverstar 03:19, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Now agree with Lord of the Rings RPF as a page name

Seven years later (!), it makes sense to make the name more consistent with other RPF. And add it to Category:Celebrities & Real People (which could use some cleanup itself) --msilverstar (talk) 00:38, 4 May 2016 (UTC)

Category:Lotrips is already listed under Category:Actor RPF. Why should the page name Lotrips be changed? Did the fandom name actually change? AO3 tag wrangling rules require consistency, but Fanlore page names should reflect what the fans actually call a thing, unless there is truly no consensus on what it is called.--aethel (talk) 01:02, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
