Acari fell into fandom in the summer of 1999 when she typed the names of her then favourite TV show characters - for the record: Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres - into a search engine and stumbled across fanfiction. She self-identifies as a fannish serial monogamist with many and varied "indiscretions" along the way. She went from Star Trek: Voyager fandom to Roswell to Lotrips to Stargate Atlantis.
She used to write fanfiction in German and English. Her obsessive-compulsive tendencies got channelled into founding and maintaining the Lotrips newsletter Four Lobsters, co-founding Tales of Arcadia, a Joan of Arcadia fanfiction archive, and The Joan of Arcadia Collective, a Joan of Arcadia resource site.
Her current contributions to fandom mostly take the shape of being an editor of metafandom and working for the Organization for Transformative Works.
