Talk:Spock (TOS)

I think we need a different kind of character template here. 'Status: alive' made me crack up, but doesn't seem helpful otherwise, 'location' is not so useful in science fiction fandom as it is in, say, Pros or Starsky & Hutch, and 'rank' isn't a constant thing: Spock is science officer, then first officer/science officer, then captain, then ambassador...--Mary Crawford 18:37, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Does anyone have a copy of the David Gerrold book? I read it from the library a long time ago, and remember some stories about salacious fan-letters received on the subject of Spock. --Betty 01:36, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

On the subject of Spock's testicles (God, I love fandom sometimes), the Leslie Fish story referenced for the "great green anthurium" with tentacles also places Spock's testes in his lower back, although they're not called chenesi and he doesn't have an additional pair in the normal human location.--Penknife 20:43, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

  • grins* Good catch! I skipped over that completely. Will alter the description (while trying not to stare at Sandy's terrifying quote below, ahem.)--Mary Crawford 20:50, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
I found a little more on the origin of chenesi -- I'll add it.--Penknife 20:51, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Fanon, I think, needs to be renamed to "genitalia" or something

because, when it comes to Spock, there was *plenty* of other fanon. I mean, the entirety of Kraith, of bondmates, of ponfarr, of Ancient Vulcan... So, can anyone think of something more tasteful than genitalia?

How about a subhead under Fanon called "Personal Attributes" or some such? (ahem) (Although given the quotes you guys have included, delicacy may be unwarranted, here! *g*) --Arduinna 22:34, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh my god, the works quoted! I added a "physiology" subheader, so feel free to change, or stick in other subheads to get people started on non-genital fanon. --Betty 22:43, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
There, have added some fan response so people reading this page are not immediately overwhelmed by great green anthuriums or stud ponies. Ahem.--Mary Crawford 15:58, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Can we make a way to get to the fanzine titled, "Spock"? When I type the single word in the search box, I end up here as a dead end. Mrs. Potato Head 17:05, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

If you look at what I did, you can see how to add a disambiguation line at the top of a page for things like this. It's really easy -- just put a short, simple line about "if you're looking for the (show, character, fan, zine, artwork, whatever), see Other Page Name", and put the entire line in italics. :) --Arduinna 21:31, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Vulcan genitalia, again

So I've just read a Reboot story that has Spock's penis barbed, like a cat's[1], and I've been wondering whether that appears in TOS fanfic as well. I've seen Vulcans made into descendants of felines in TOS fanfic, but I can't recall any TOS examples for cat-like penises. Unfortunately Reboot does not have a Spock page yet, so no section for alien genitalia 2.0 either where I could add this variant of the alien penis kink, but I can't imagine that with the cat-descendants theory and the alien penis fanon already out there, there would be no TOS stories of this kind.--RatCreature 10:27, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Re: top level Spock genitalia page (i.e. the comment with the last edit): I'm not sure. OTOH it would be good to compare and contrast TOS and AOS genitalia in fanworks, otoh the genitalia sectionn is not that long yet, and I think once some other stuff is added it would still fit in well just as part of this article.--RatCreature 20:14, 19 May 2010 (UTC) ETA: also I have to say that recent picture looks somewhat disturbing. Not so much the tentacles, but what is that on the penis? Scales? It looks like a cob of corn or something.O_o --RatCreature 20:16, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

I think it's scales, but that doesn't really fit with the flower thing so I really don't know. It's a bit scary, isn't it? It made me think of this new!Spock picture with tentacle!penis (obviously NSFW). That's why I thought of an alien genitalia page but you are right, it can probably wait. --Doro 20:41, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
We also already have the tentacles page (on which that K/S art is linked) and the alien kink page. So I'm not sure we need another one for Spock in particular.--RatCreature 21:09, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

a separate page for genitalia?

I've got another bit for this section, one that seems to be taking over this page. Should Spock's Genitalia be moved to a trope page or something? --Mrs. Potato Head 23:38, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Honestly, I'm wondering if the whole thing shouldn't be moved to Vulcan, subhead "Physiology". Or a specific page on "Vulcan Sexuality". These speculations affect stories about Sarek as well, for instance. --KTJ 10:50, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
Wow, is there a lot of information about Spock's penis. I don't think there's room on the main Vulcan page. Perhaps a Vulcan Genitalia page? And it could be a trope page.--æþel 02:46, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
Re recent additions: Oh my gawd (or ghod as we used to say in sf fandom)[1]. Anyway, I think it's about time it was recognized that Spock's thing clearly has a life of its own and is taking over the universe. I think it deserves its own page. --KTJ 19:35, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
Yes, yes! I like Vulcan Genitalia. --Mrs. Potato Head 01:32, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
