I am trying to figure out what template should apply here and how this fits into the overall gaming fandom. Input welcomed. --MeeDee (talk) 08:20, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, I am not sure that the text of Lovers' Prelude belongs here. It looks like fanfic, which Fanlore does not host. Is the text posted elsewhere? We can link to it and even quote parts of it, but even if it isn't already hosted online, I don't think the text should be reproduced here in full. I recommend posting it to the AO3 and then linking to it from here and using this space to talk about the creation and use of the text. Then it can use the Fanfiction or Fanwork template.--æþel (talk) 04:29, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- Or, if it's not fanfic, is there a term for what it is? Are there a lot of RPGs with a written introductory narrative like this? We may need to develop guidelines for where these should go. --totally unofficial person æþel (talk) 04:48, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- I'm very new here so if this is not appropriate for me to post this narrative, please do let me know. My intent is to provide an example of how players on Stargame developed characters. Most of the time, an individual worked up a narrative on their own, but in this case, we knew that the characters were husband and wife, so we combined our efforts.
- Hm, it might go in a subpage? I'll ask.--æþel (talk) 18:01, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- The text of the fic itself should go elsewhere; AO3 would be an appropriate venue for it. (The fandoms could be both Stargame and Star Trek - All Media Types.) A note about how the fic ties into/creates the background for the game would be good for Fanlore, along with potentially a brief excerpt, maybe 100-200 words, and possibly a character list with notes about their relevance to the gaming setting. --Elfwreck (talk) 18:52, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
