Talk:Lorne (Buffyverse)
Lorne is also a character on Stargate Atlantis. See Evan Lorne and Lorne/Parrish. --Doro (talk) 21:58, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
Yes, that is true, but Evan Lorne already has a page, and when I looked at the pages linking to the redlink "Lorne", all but one were referring to the character from Angel. The other one was referring to Evan Lorne so I'll change that one now to link to his page instead. EvilToTheCore13 (talk) 08:29, 4 June 2020 (UTC) EvilToTheCore13
- Thanks for creating this page EvilToTheCore13. It looks like it might need a disambiguation page. I'll move Lorne to Lorne (Buffyverse) to be consistent with pages like Angel (Buffyverse). There's also a Fargo (TV) character called Lorne Malvo, and Stephen Erikson's books also have a character called Lorn. So even if the majority of links relate to Lorne (Buffyverse) at the moment, that might change in the future. --Auntags (talk) 12:23, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you, that...makes more sense than what I did. I was just scrolling through Wanted Pages, found "Lorne" and thought "Angel", hadn't thought it through quite enough. Sorry about that. EvilToTheCore13 (talk) 12:45, 7 June 2020 (UTC)EvilToTheCore13.
- You were 100% right in what you did. It's just sometimes we don't realise there are links to other fandoms until after a wanted page has been created. So moving pages and creating new disambiguation pages is a really common thing we do to clear up the wiki and make sure people can find what they're looking for. Thanks again. --Auntags (talk) 14:32, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
The "Buffyverse" character Lorne is an Angel the Series character. He doesn't appear on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Even Wikipedia disambiguates him as Lorne (Angel) --Doro (talk) 07:56, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
- At the moment all characters are in Category:Buffyverse Characters and this category is a subcategory of both Category:Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Category:Angel. (In fact most of the subcategories of Buffy, are also subcategories of Angel). This includes characters who only appeared in Angel and they have been disambiguated the same way - see Dana (Buffyverse) and Penn (Buffyverse). Buffyverse is also a fandom term for the shared universe.
- I can't find any talk pages discussion about this so a discussion is probably needed. I'm open to disambiguating in the way you mentioned, but how would we classify characters who appeared on both shows, or characters who only appear in the comics? --Auntags (talk) 16:29, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
