Talk:Fic Commission

I see this is currently framed as an activity (correct), but I think the fannish term might be Fic Commission, so if we changed the page name we could add it to the glossary as well. When I google writing commissions I get a lot of nonfannish results, and it looks like even in the quotes on this page people are mostly preferring "fic commission".

  • I dememed fail_fandomanon to see what they talked about the most: 195 results for "fanfic commissions", 160 "fanfic commission", 202 "fic commissions", 19 "fic commission", 5 "writing commissions", 5 "writing commission", 39 "story commissions", 36 "story commission".
  • AO3 tags: Commissioned fic ‎(19), Commission fic ‎(91), Commission Fanfic ‎(1), fic commission ‎(3), Commissioned Story ‎(23), Writing Commission ‎(4).
  • AO3 works search all fields: "fanfic commission" (32), "fic commission" (89), "story commission" (6), "writing commission" (33), "commission fic" (220), "commissioned fic" (87), "Commission Fanfic" (2)

Absolutely! That's my vote. --MPH (talk) 23:28, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
Ah, I just setup a redirect for Fic Commissions > Writing Commissions before seeing this discussion. I agree that it'd be good to change the name to Fic Commissions - that's how I've always seen it - and unless there are any objections, I can do that this week. - Fandomgeographies (talk) 20:42, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Also Commissions redirects to Purchasing Fanworks but maybe it should be changed to a disambugation? - Hoopla (talk) 20:51, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
I renamed the page Fic Commission. I redirected "Commissions" to it. I put Purchasing Fanworks in the seealso. Feel free to tweak any of this! Plus, welcome to Fanlore, Hoopla. --MPH (talk) 14:25, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
