In canon, George Michael Bluth/Maeby Fünke from Arrested Development comes to mind. Zephyrprince 23:49, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Is fakecest the same as pseudo incest in fandom?

I looked for the Ao3 fakecest tag but it gives me a 404 error. See https://archiveofourown.org/tags/Fakecest. Quick google search and I'm getting almost nothing for fakecest. Is this a term that has fallen out of use? And am I right to say that pseudo incest has the exact same definition? I ask because I haven't seen the term fakecest before and I'm now wondering if the pseudo-incest examples I added are appropriate here. Also on Ao3 Pseudo-Incest has over 3000 results including synonyms that imply "fake incest". --Auntags (talk) 11:29, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

I've never heard the term "fakecest" before, however have seen the term pseudo incest used, although I only been in transformation fandom since the mid-2010s, so maybe this is an older term that has fallen out of favour -- Kingstoken (talk) 13:21, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
Hmmm, I have been in fandom a bit longer /o\ but not many fandoms with step sibilings or adopted siblings. I'm also mostly in Western fandom, so could this be a term from eastern fandom? The original editor asked the same question I'm trying to get an answer in their initial edit. "[is fakecest also used for stepsibs and adopted siblings who didn't grow up together?]"
I'm leaning towards creating a separate page for pseudo incest if there's no confirmation of this. --Auntags (talk) 13:19, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
I think pseudo incest should get a separate page. This seems like a TV tropes style analysis of canons that do a surprise reveal of characters not being related after all rather than cases where there's some doubt as to whether it counts as incest. Googling fakecest gets me porn results and a goodreads genre. I found two references on fail_fandomanon[1][2] Maybe it's more talked about in Asian drama fandoms? I found this.--aethel (talk) 15:55, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
