Some Excerpts
Why did you choose your pen name?
I got tired of my old Star Wars pen name (and I'd gone through a lot I didn't much like) and so just picked the name of the female lead of my favorite TV series (Farscape) because I liked the look of the name, and stuck 'Lady' on the front to differentiate from the other Aeryns out there.
When did you start writing fanfiction?
Mid to late 1999; I dabbled in some Star Wars fiction which with the exception of a couple of iffy poems remains unpublished to this day. After Episode I came out I went on a sudden writing binge, and almost every SW fic I've done since then has been prequel-related, and to Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in particular. A few months ago I got into Harry Potter fanfiction, and am writing several stories for that series as well, a couple of which are published.
Would you agree that fanfiction is a genre dominated by women, and if so, why do you think it's so?
I've never thought about it, really. I'm in both the Star Wars and Harry Potter writing communities, and from what I see both have their fair number of male writers. In HP, at least, many of the more well-known stories do seem to be written by women, but, as I said, I never really thought about it.
This is a site devoted to antagonists. Could you reveal us your favourite Mr. Bad Guy?
I don't think I love bad guys so much as guys who have a dual nature – a light side warring with a darker one, or at the very least, a bad guy who didn't start out bad and therefore has a possibility for an interesting backstory. Darth Vader, Tom Riddle/Voldemort, and Farscape's Scorpius all have those and are all definite favorites of mine, though I've loved Anakin/Vader by far the longest out of any of them. :)
