In Hindsight, Archived version Date: 29 November 2019Length: 3,787 wordsGenre: needs tags
In hindsight, it was obviously a crush, but the fact that Mike could only look at it in hindsight, a long way away from the times when his pulse would quicken and his mouth would grow dry, made him able to dismiss it. Time and distance had a way of making everything look small and insignificant in comparison, and so did the burden Mike carried with him. It was a lot of responsibility, being the lighthouse keeper. Like everything going to the beat, Archived version Date: 13 June 2020Length: 2,605 wordsGenre: needs tags
Sleeping had always been fraught for Eddie. As a child it was a time when his anxieties saw fit to run free, his fears taking seed in the shadows and growing into vast creeping vines until it was 3 AM and he was still wide awake, staring at the dark wall as his mind raced. What if the plant he had touched when he was playing in the Barrens was poison ivy? What if the ache in his legs that Stan said were growing pains was a sign there was something terribly wrong? What if that dark shape in the corner was the leper from outside that old house, waiting for the moment when Eddie was most alone and defenceless? What if… (Reddie)
