rec50 is a recommendations challenge community on LiveJournal, based on fanfic100 and similar communities.
As of 2017, the community has 2,728 journal entries with 1,989 comments received.[1]
Popular fandoms recced at the community include Harry Potter, Stargate Atlantis, NSYNC, due South, Firefly, Buffyverse, The Sentinel, and The Professionals.
Introduction
Inspired by fanfic100, icons100, and the many other 100 communities on LiveJournal, we've created a recommendation community with the same challenge aspect. Fifty recs is the ultimate goal, but there are benchmarks at ten, twenty, thirty, forty and fifty recs. That way, if you've picked a small fandom, or a new fandom, or a rare pairing you can still play. We also know that many fandoms/pairings/characters don't lend themselves well to all the prompts (ie-It wouldn't be fair to ask someone reccing Lord Voldemort/Lucius Malfoy to pick a humorous story). The point is good fic recs in a multitude of fandoms, styles and pairings. It's not to post a story you don't really like in order make your fifty rec goal.[1]
