Panfandom Hanukkah Bingo is a bingo challenge created in 2022 by aimmyarrowshigh to "celebrate Hanukkah on its own terms and give Jewish characters and fans a place to breathe."[1]
The bingo was initially introduced on 23 November 2022.[2] It was featured in The Rec Center on 25 November 2022.[3]
FINAL THOUGHT As we head into December, we wanted to highlight the Panfandom Hanukkah Bingo, an event celebrating Jewish characters and fans. From the post:
Why? Jewish characters and Jewish fans are often overlooked or erased during the Winter Holiday Season in favor of “Secret Santa” exchanges, Christmas-themed fics, and the idea that ~Hanukkah is Jewish Christmas~ (which spoiler for all fics in this bingo: it’s not). This panfandom Bingo challenge is to celebrate Hanukkah on its own terms and give Jewish characters and fans a place to breathe. :)

And SOMEWHAT RELATED: as we’ve done in Decembers past, we’re currently soliciting wintry fics: stories centered around the upcoming holidays, or just ones with winter vibes. And as always—and as the fest above underscores—we strongly encourage folks to rec things other than Christmas fics (yes, please more fics that center Jewish characters!!) (but also non-denominational fics are very welcome haha). As of December 4, 2022, the original post had garnered 544 notes on Tumblr.[5] The first night of the Bingo, 20 works were posted in total, 17 of which were added to the AO3 collection.[6][7] The second night had 12 works added to the AO3 collection.[8][7] The third night had 12 works, 10 of which were added to the AO3 collection.[7][9] The fourth night had 17 works, 13 of which were added to the AO3 collection.[10][7] The fifth night saw a slight dip, with 11 total works, 10 of which were added to the AO3 collection.[11][7] The sixth night saw 20 works added to the AO3 collection.[12][7] The seventh night saw 13 works added to the AO3 collection.[13][7] The eighth night saw 15 works, 14 of which were added to the AO3 collection. An additional work was posted to AO3 after the final roundup was posted.[14][7]
Overall, the 2022 Panfandom Hanukkah Bingo saw over 120 works in over 75 fandoms, with 107 posted to the AO3 collection and 70 fandoms represented.[7]
