Well, let's see. My first foray into fanfic and fandom at large was due to the X-files. The very first thing I wrote, and god I shudder to think about it now, was some Skinner/Scully het. It didn't take long for me to see the light and start reading and writing slash. Mostly Skinner/Mulder, but also some lovely Mulder/Krycek and OT3 - Mulder/Skinner/Krycek *sigh* Those were the days. My fanfic and fandom participation came to an abrupt halt a few years ago due to a horrendous work schedule and family obligations. I re-entered fandom about three years ago, after my interest was sparked from watching the obvious chemistry between Danny/Martin on WaT. I started writing WaT and then Lost came along and them OMGWTF - my flist - inthekeyofd in particular - kept squeeing about something called Stargate Atlantis. I resisted until Season 2 when I learned that Mitch Pileggi (Skinner) was joining the cast. The first episode I ever saw was 2x02 - The Intruder - with John and Rodney running around trying to rid the Daedalus of the Wraith virus. Shortly thereafter, I officially became SGA's bitch. And I'm proud to say I even converted some of my WaT and Lost fangirls into SGA fangirls too. *pats self on back* ... all of my WaT, Lost and SGA fic can be found at my lj. OMG - I love it all. To me, the SGA fandom is like one big dysfunctional family. Yeah, there's some wank every now and then, but for the most part it's been the most supportive, fun-loving, full of awesome people fandom I've ever participated in. I love that there are so many talented people in this fandom - not just writers, but vid makers, and artists, and funny as hell reviewers. I love that when I'm looking for a story it usually takes under a minute for someone to find it for me over at sgastoryfinders. I love that there's lots of humor in this fandom - lots of lighthearted, snarky things that make me smile and laugh. And I love that some of the angstiest things I've ever read/seen/heard, came from this fandom. I love that for the first time in pretty much ANY FANDOM I've ever participated in, I want to read AUs, and crazy male-preg fics, and *blushes* tentacle fic. I just *SQUEEZES SGA* love you guys! (And don't even get me started on what I love about the actual SGA characters because I need to finish this up sometime today). *coughs Rodney - Rodney - Rodney* oh, and did I forget to mention the THIGH-STRAPS. And the on-screen male/male kissing? And the jealous!John fics. *sigh* 'cuz I'm a sucker for jealous!John.
