Kol/Bonnie is a rarepair in The Vampire Diaries fandom.

Canon

Their canon relationship was never friendly. Even though Bonnie performed magic spells in season three that had a major impact on The Original Family, she hadn't actually met Kol until season four.

Fandom

Fandom began shipping Kennett in season three, despite the fact that they had no scenes together at that time. It was due to fandom's tendency to pair up all the Original siblings with the Mystic Falls gang (Elena with Elijah, Caroline with Klaus, and Stefan with Rebekah).

In fact, Kol/Bonnie is an extremely popular side pairing in Klaus/Caroline and Elijah/Elena stories.
